The AJ lamps (short for architect Arne Jacobsen) were designed in 1960 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (Radisson Blu) and contributed to the total design concept of the hotel. Several of the hotel's items have achieved iconic design status and among the lighting products, the AJ lamps, in particular, have become world-renowned.
The fixture emits downward directed light. The angle of the shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution. The shade is painted white on the inside to ensure a soft comfortable light. Materials: the base is die-cast zinc, the shade is spun steel, and the stem is steel.
Takes a 22W LED/a -21 medium bulb or a regular 60W/a-19/IF medium.
On/off switch on the base.
