In 2016, we were part of an international design research project called "Furnishing Utopia". The first phase was organized as a workshop at Hancock Shaker Village in Massachusetts, USA. The first sketches of the Isaac blanket were made during our days in Shaker Village. The seats of classic Shaker chairs are often woven from colorful, woven cotton tape. We have tried to translate this braided expression from a constructive textile surface to a light, soft and decorative blanket.
